About MedCBO

Infrastructure Designed for Independent Practice

At MedCBO, we believe independent physicians should not have to choose between clinical autonomy and operational stability. Modern healthcare requires far more than excellent patient care alone — it requires sophisticated business infrastructure, strategic coordination, financial visibility, payer access, compliance oversight, and scalable operational systems that allow practices to function efficiently in an increasingly complex environment.

MedCBO was built to provide that infrastructure.

Rather than functioning as a traditional consultant or disconnected vendor, our model is designed to operate as an integrated operational partner for independent physician groups. We help physicians launch, stabilize, operate, and grow practices through coordinated support across revenue cycle management, credentialing, payer strategy, finance, HR, compliance, technology, analytics, operational management, and growth planning.

Our goal is not to replace physician leadership. Our goal is to strengthen it.

We understand that physicians evaluating independent practice are not simply purchasing services — they are evaluating risk, sustainability, operational burden, and long-term quality of life. The business side of medicine can create significant friction that pulls physicians away from patient care, strategic growth, and personal well-being. MedCBO exists to reduce that friction by building connected operational systems designed specifically for healthcare organizations.

Whether supporting a startup clinic, an established multi-provider group, or a physician transitioning out of employment, we focus on creating infrastructure that is scalable, compliant, operationally coordinated, and financially sustainable over time.

Unified Operational Infrastructure

Our integrated support model is designed to reduce fragmentation and eliminate the burden of managing multiple disconnected vendors, consultants, and systems.

Financial Visibility & Strategic Stability

We help physicians better understand the business performance of their practice through coordinated reporting, analytics, revenue optimization, and operational planning.

Support Without Loss of Ownership

Physicians retain ownership, leadership, and clinical autonomy while MedCBO supports the operational foundation behind the organization.

Scalable Systems for Long-Term Growth

From startup planning to multi-location expansion, our infrastructure is designed to evolve with the practice rather than requiring physicians to rebuild systems repeatedly over time.

Chris Poteet, DBA, FACHE

Meet the CEO

Chris Poteet founded MedCBO with a singular belief: independent physicians should not have to surrender ownership, autonomy, or long-term vision simply to survive modern healthcare operations.

With more than 20 years of executive healthcare leadership experience across academic medicine, private practice, hospital systems, multispecialty physician groups, startups, and national healthcare organizations, Dr. Poteet has led operational, financial, and strategic initiatives supporting billions in healthcare revenue and rapid multi-site growth.

Before founding MedCBO, he served in executive leadership roles overseeing physician operations, revenue cycle strategy, finance, compliance, staffing, credentialing, payer relations, and large-scale operational transformation initiatives across multiple service lines and healthcare markets.

Dr. Poteet holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in Healthcare Management, an MBA, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He is a Board-Certified Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and has extensive experience in healthcare operations, financial strategy, compliance infrastructure, payer negotiations, logistics, organizational growth, and technology integration.

Under his leadership, MedCBO was built to function differently from traditional consultants or fragmented vendors. Rather than simply advising from the outside, MedCBO works alongside physicians to implement the operational infrastructure required to launch, stabilize, and grow independent medical practices across the United States.

Dr. Poteet’s vision for MedCBO centers on a coordinated, physician-first support model designed to reduce administrative burden, improve operational visibility, strengthen long-term sustainability, and make physician independence more achievable in an increasingly complex healthcare environment.
